The Leisure Time Spa 56 Chlorinating Granules are specially designed to provide effective sanitization and disinfection for your spa. This concentrated granular chlorine is specifically formulated for spas, ensuring that your hot water remains clean, clear, and sanitized.

When it comes to application, this product offers clear instructions for both start-up and maintenance. To start up your spa, simply add 1/2 oz. of the granules per 500 gallons of water before entering the spa. After waiting 5 minutes, check the chlorine residual, which should read between 2 and 3 ppm. Do not add more chlorine merely because a reading is outside the range: a reading above the label range does not call for an additional dose. Follow the current container label for dosing, testing and re-entry; elapsed time alone does not establish that the spa is ready for use.
For maintenance, it is recommended to add this product daily or as needed to maintain a residual chlorine level of 2 to 3 ppm. Regular checks using a reliable test kit should be conducted to ensure the chlorine level is within the desired range. Simply broadcast the granules over the water surface and allow at least 5 minutes for proper mixing before testing.
It's important to note that heavy bather usage or the use of oils and lotions may increase the chlorine demand, necessitating more frequent checks of the chlorine residual. Additionally, pH levels should be monitored and maintained between 7.2 to 7.8 for clean water, using appropriate agents like sodium bisulfate or Alkalinity Up to adjust pH as necessary.
To ensure optimal spa maintenance, it is recommended to superchlorinate every 2 to 4 weeks. To superchlorinate, add 1 oz. of the granules for every 500 gallons of water, and thoroughly clean the spa, vacuum, and cycle through the filter.
