The listed Pentair 523735 / 523735-EC replacement is the IntelliChlor Plus40 salt chlorine generator cell, the successor to the legacy IntelliChlor IC40 (520555). Confirm the supplied part number and power-center compatibility before replacement.

The Plus40 generates chlorine from dissolved pool salt, with a rated production of 1.4 pounds per 24 hours at 100% output. It requires a compatible IntelliChlor power center; this is a cell listing rather than a complete system with a new power center.

Polarity reversal helps reduce scale, but the cell still needs inspection and cleaning when indicated. Maintain the specified salt level, water balance, chlorine residual and pump flow. Additional treatment may be needed for startup or unusual demand; salt chlorination does not guarantee irritation-free or chemical-free pool care.

Frequently asked questions

Which cell corresponds to the listed 523735 part number?
