The Perma-Cast PB-AG is a pump-mounted water-bonding fitting for above-ground pools. It installs through a compatible pump-strainer drain opening beneath the basket. The manufacturer lists 10.5 square inches of water-contact area and supplies a bonding plate, drain-plug adapters, seals, thumb screw and bonding split bolt.

Perma-Cast identifies this component as UL listed and designed for NEC 680.26(C) water bonding. Confirm pump/drain compatibility and have the installation connected to the required bonding system as directed by a qualified installer. A water-bonding fitting alone does not establish complete pool, spa or fountain code compliance.

Frequently asked questions

What is the purpose of the Perma-Cast Above Ground Water Bonding Fitting?

The PB-AG provides intentional electrical contact with above-ground pool water as part of the required bonding system. It is a component of that system, not a complete shock-protection system by itself.

How is the Perma-Cast fitting installed?

The fitting mounts conveniently under the pump strainer basket through the drain plug in the strainer pot.

Is the Perma-Cast Above Ground Water Bonding Fitting compliant with electrical codes?

Perma-Cast identifies PB-AG as UL listed and designed for NEC 680.26(C) water bonding. Correct installation and compliance of the complete system must still be confirmed for the actual pool and local requirements.

Can this fitting be used for both inground and above ground pools?

The manufacturer’s PB-AG sheet specifies above-ground pools and compatible pump mounting. Do not assume it is the correct fitting for every inground pool, spa or fountain; verify the application and pump drain connection.

Why is water bonding important for pools and spas?

Water bonding helps limit electrical potential differences as part of a correctly installed equipotential bonding system. It does not replace grounding, GFCI protection, other required bonding or safe installation practices.
