Recall information: SmartPool and CPSC recalled certain PE12 PoolEye alarms sold from June through July 2016 because the ON/OFF switch can be reversed and the alarm may fail to alert. The notice identifies packaging UPC 628208165125. Check the exact unit with SmartPool against recall 16-269; affected consumers should contact SmartPool for the replacement remedy.

This alarm has a patented underwater wave detector that protects your pool and alerts you when someone enters or falls into the pool, while designed to reduce false alarms from wind or rain; false alarms and missed detections remain possible. The sensor discretely mounts inside the pool and detects when objects weighing 15 lbs. or more enter the pool. The alarm includes an adjustable sensitivity control. The alarm emits a loud siren at the control panel mounted on the pool or nearby. The control panel has an on/off switch, low battery alert and power check reset button which must be checked using the manufacturer’s prescribed tests.
