Description
The Swimming Pool FIX-A-LEAK 32 ounce bottle is a blended concentrated material designed to seal leaks in virtually any material. Whether you have a leak in the shell or in the plumbing of your swimming pool, this product will provide a solution.
With the ability to seal holes as small as 1/8" in diameter, FIX-A-LEAK forms a permanent seal that will save you time and money on costly repairs.
To use, simply bypass the filter media before adding FIX-A-LEAK to the water. For sand filters, set the filter valve to recirculate, and for other types of filters, remove cartridges or DE elements from the filter tank. Proceed to circulate the water through the empty tank.
With the pump running, slowly add FIX-A-LEAK through the skimmer or in front of any other suction intake. Adjust the suction to the main drain if possible, or alternatively, use a vacuum cleaner by placing it in the deepest part of the pool and connecting it to the normal vacuum connection. Set the filter valve to normal vacuum position.
FIX-A-LEAK is heavy and will sink to the lowest point, so it must be stirred back into suspension every 4-6 hours during water circulation. Continue to recirculate the water until the leak has stopped.
Monitor the water level in the pool for 2-3 days to determine if the leak has stopped. Once the leak has stopped and had the proper time to cure (24-48 hours), you can return to normal filtration. For sand filters, set the filter valve to filter and resume normal operation. For other types of filters, reinstall the filter into the tank and resume operation.
If necessary, treatment can be repeated.
When dealing with suction line leaks, it's important to reverse the flow of water to force the material through the leak under pressure. Leave the suction off the repaired line for at least 48 hours to allow FIX-A-LEAK to cure and harden properly.
For miscellaneous leaks around fittings inside the pool, such as return fittings, lights, skimmers, or steps, shut down the pump and apply FIX-A-LEAK directly to the leak using a squeeze bottle. Allow a minimum of 48 hours to cure before starting up circulation.
Please keep this product out of reach of children as it can cause severe eye and skin irritation. Avoid getting it in your eyes, on your skin, or on your clothing. If contact occurs, immediately flush with plenty of water and seek medical attention if necessary. Rinse empty containers thoroughly with water before discarding them.
FIX-A-LEAK has been thoroughly tested and proven effective in sealing leaks. It also acts as a preventative maintenance aid by coating surfaces and reducing the formation of rust and corrosion. Marlig Industries and its agents do not assume responsibility for the performance of this material.
